The St. Louis Post-Dispatch called it “An electrifying moment“. Do you remember it?
On April 24th, 1999, St. Louis Cardinal, Fernando Tatis hit two grand slam home runs in the 3rd inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It had never been done before in Major League Baseball and it hasn’t been done since then either.
In fact, only 4 MLB teams have hit grand slams in the same inning (by different players). And, only once before did the St. Louis Cardinals hit 2 grand slams in the same game (again, by different players).
As Tatis said in an interview, “Unbelievable.” However, all Cardinals fans believe it and cherish this memory!
